Australia's 7 Territorries
Australia is the smallest continent but the sixth-largest country and the biggest island in the world.
Australia has very different types of landscape. On the one hand the famous "outback" and on the other hand eastern Australia.
The desert outback covers most of the interior. It is too hot, dry and barren to support many people or cattle raising.
Eastern Australia has large areas of grasslands, used primarily for sheep and cattle ranches.
Australia also has some mountainous areas and plateaus scattered throughout the country. For example the Blue Mountains, on the south-eastern end of Australia or the Snowy Mountains in the south east of New South Wales. Mount Kosciuszko is with 2,229m the highest peak on the Australian mainland.
As an island, Australia also has many beautiful coastal beaches over the distance of 25,760 km.
