    LITERATURE: NOVELS

    Mutant Message Down Under
    by Marlo Morgan

    Short biography:

Marlo Morgan lives in Missouri and is a retired health-care professional. Her license to practice in Missouri is a chiropractic and acupuncture license. "Mutant Message Down Under" describes a journey of several months across the Australian continent in which the author is taught Aboriginal cultural secrets.

Mutant Message Down Under- a critical statement:

Morgan's book deals with the experiences she had living with an Aboriginal tribe, whom she later gave the name "the real people." As they have the feeling that their tribe would die out they invite her to learn about their culture and spread it to the world.

Morgan herself sold her story as a story which is based on true experiences. Australian indigenous people doubted that this was the case. Some time later scientists found out that Morgan made different claims about the Aboriginal culture that were not based on knowlegde and truth.

Their reports revealed that Marlo Morgan's knowledge was not based on facts. As they went to the Aboriginal tribe, they recognized that the book was only a story.
